Discord Timestamp Generator
This free Discord timestamp generator turns any date and time into a <t:…> code that shows in every reader's own time zone. Pick a time, copy the style you want, and paste it into a Discord message.

What is a Discord timestamp?
A Discord timestamp is a short code such as <t:1793463630:F>. The number is a Unix time: the seconds since 1 January 1970 UTC. When Discord displays the message, it replaces the code with a date or time written in each reader's own time zone and language. Someone in New York and someone in Tokyo read the same message and each sees the correct local time, so nobody has to convert time zones for an event, a raid or a deadline.
All Discord timestamp formats
The letter after the second colon picks the style. t is a short time and T adds seconds. d is a short numeric date and D spells out the month. f combines the long date and short time, and is what Discord uses when you leave the letter out. F adds the weekday. R is relative, such as "in 2 hours" or "3 days ago", and Discord keeps it updated while the message is open.
The exact wording follows the reader's Discord language setting, so the previews above are close to, but not always identical with, what each reader sees.
Discord timestamp not working?
Check four things. The code must use angle brackets and lowercase t: <t:1793463630:R>. The number must be seconds, not milliseconds; a 13-digit number is milliseconds, so divide it by 1000. Timestamps do not render inside code blocks or backticks. And they do not render in a channel name, a nickname or most bot embeds' footer text.
Timestamps in bots and webhooks
Bots use the same format. In JavaScript, `<t:${Math.floor(date.getTime() / 1000)}:R>` builds a relative timestamp; in Python, f"<t:{int(dt.timestamp())}:F>" builds a full one. Make sure the date carries the right time zone before you convert it, or the code will be hours off.
FAQ
How do I make a Discord timestamp?
Pick a date and time above, choose the time zone, and copy the code for the style you want. Paste it into any Discord message.
Does a Discord timestamp show in everyone's time zone?
Yes. Discord converts the Unix time to each reader's local time zone and language, so everyone sees the correct time for where they are.
What does the R format do?
R shows relative time, such as "in 3 hours" or "2 days ago", and updates as time passes.
Why does my timestamp show the wrong time?
Usually the time was entered in the wrong time zone, or a millisecond value was used instead of seconds. Set the time zone above to where the event time was decided.
